WELL lately I have been trying my best to stay focused because this is my last semester in school at Kapiolani Community College while graduating with an Associates in Liberal Arts degree. Staying focused this last couple months have been tough for me though because of one reason. I been very frustrated and hurt but i got to stay strong and stay the same me.

The waves were small and fun BUT i was super tired because this is too early in the morning for me! I left my house at 5:45 in the morning to meet up with Ogata.
If you donʻt know me....this picture explains it all!.....I AM DEFINITELY NOT A MORNING GUY! haha notice there is no smile on my face :) I actually had a head ache from the long drive from town. I am not trying to pose like i am some moke.
I am stoked i got some good shots in the small surf. It was worth waking up early :) uncrowdedness and clean conditions. I could just surf and be myself. No paddle battles at all.

WOWzers!!! its been too long since i last blogged. I been really busy working, surfing, and finishing my spring 2010 semester of school. I pretty much surf during the daytime and work at night..... pretty good life. My training with Dustin Cuizon has paid off with a win at the Surf into Summer on Memorial day weekend and a good showing in the WQS Sponsor Me Pro event last week. I learned a lot from the Sponsor Me event with the heat against Dustin Cuizon, Randall Paulson, and Doug Silva. It was a very close one and I cant wait for the comps in Japan and Brazil in the month of August.

So I looked at my shirt and Keenan's shirt the other night and look how funny it is .......... I asked Keenan "where we stay?" and he told me Ala Moana stupid, BUT i told him to look at our shirts and I said "Ho bradda we stay in Honolulu, Hawaii braaaa!!!" hahaha

By the way stop by at Drift and pick up our new "HONOLULU" shirt. The shirt comes in this color which is black or we have an all white with gold letters and an all white with silver letters. Stop by and get a HONOLULU shirt. SHOOOOOOOOOTZ

Well, I will be at Kewalo Basin for the NSSA Regional Championships this weekend. There is a week long waiting period for the best 2 days of competition. It is an amateur surf competition, but all my friends are in it, so I will be down there supporting them and having the load of Shark energy drinks under the Rusty or BayVI tent if we dont put up a Shark tent. My brother is the Rusty team manager so he will let me borrow the shade under his tent and keep coolers loaded with Shark. I am pretty sure the comp is going to run on Saturday, so if you dont have anything planned, come by and check out the surf! Aloha.

My adventures.....well here was what we did a couple of days ago. We wanted to find waves so we thought it was a good idea to check the waves at the top of the mountain that divides the north and the west side. Me...being the leader....led the way but everyone didn't follow so not even a quarter way up the mountain i chickened out because of a patch of big black spiders in this 4 foot tall weeds. SCARY. but ya another story i can tell. FUNNY STUFF

A couple of days before Christmas on my way home from work in Waikiki, I got punched in the corner of my face by a big black dude. I was skating home and then out of no where he runs up to me and blasts me a good one and he jacks my skateboard and threatens to wack me with it when i was on the ground. I was f**ken scared!!! I thought he was going to kill me. Luckily him and his other 2 friends ran off and only took the skateboard from me. I would have been sad if he took my tip. haha SO watch out and always be alert when you are in Waikiki. I hate Waikiki.

My Fall 2009 semester at KCC was very stressful because I fell behind in my work and had to play catch up the whole last month of school, while working 3 jobs!!! I currently work at Senor Frogs, Ruth's Chris Steakhouse, and Drift Surf Hawaii. I am such a busy dudeeee and had no day offs until now.....that is why i have time to update my blog! haha. I racked up a lot of hours in the library at UH studying, put a lot of hours in at the restaurants, AND also been surfing some good North Shore swells. I am soo happy i ended up maintaining my GPA.

This is me getting side tracked and reading a MAXIM magazine.
AND this is me getting confused with the readings i had to do online :(
AND i always make sure i look good for the camera at all times. cheeee hooooo

Girls Who Surf??? with boyz???

This year at the Girls Who Surf contest @ Kewalos, there was a team challenge divison. The rule was that boys could enter the team challenge and there would have to be at least one girl on the team. So, I decided to make a team with Alessa Quizon, Kapu Ping, and Nelson Ahina. Our team did a good job and held our home spot by winning the event. There was $500 to split up between all of us and some really good prizes. I hope they have this next year.

My board is better than your board!!!

This board is magic. I always have a good time on this 5'4 green piece of foam.
It is super responsive and surfs like a regular shortboard. My best friend Aaron Gold shaped me this board and I always ride it when the waves is super small or if I wanna guarantee have a GOOD surf session. This is the board to take out if you want to always be happy in the water cuz its super fun to ride.
oh ya by the way this board is a single fin and it still airs just like a regular shortboard. GOOD STUFF. luv it.

Well, last night sister wanted to treat all of the boiz to dinner. She didn't want to eat at no cheap restaurant so us boiz... me, kapu, zeke, micah, isaiah, kaz, trav, and pauli decided to eat at California Pizza Kitchen BUT the wait was at the least 1 hour! SO we decided to go eat at Bubba Gumps. The food was really good and I was stuffed. THANKz Sister!

I entered the 2009 China Uemura Longboard contest @ Queens, Waikiki for the second year in a row. This is the only time I longboard because I rather shortboard but I still had choke fun longboarding this weekend. The waves in Waikiki were really good for the contest because a south swell came in and Queens was PERFECT for long nose rides.
I ended up placing 2nd in the Mens longboard final and had a really fun time competing with the boiz. The age division was 18 to 29 years old!
AND I was entered in the 4 man team surfing challenge sponsored by PIKO and our team ended up winning! DRIFT SURF.
This was a fun contest and I am looking foward to doing it next year. Do i love longboarding now after this weekend????...................NO WAYYYYY! haha
